Two rare pieces of church music are featured at the opening concert of the Anno Sacri Concert Series: Telemann’s moving funeral cantata and Alessandro Scarlatti’s magnificent work. The latter uniquely combines Renaissance compositional techniques with intense expressive devices of the Baroque era.
